Today, I spent the entire day recuperating from yesterday's heat exhaustion in the air conditioned hotel while my companions went to Savanna, GA, to tour the old town and historical sights. They reported that old town was an quaint and interesting experience with cobblestone streets. My suspicion is that CAL/OSHA would never approve the steep stairway down to the Riverwalk. Check out the picture of Tim coming down the stairs. And of course, they also visited the Harley-Davidson dealer in Savanna. I'd be willing to bet that a dollar or two was left there.
The heat is still oppressive here, approaching 100 degrees with 86% humidity. My companions all returned in the late afternoon looking somewhat wilted. Our friends Ed and Mary invited everyone back over to their home for supper again. I declined with regrets as I was still suffering some effects from the previous day's heat exhaustion. I'm told it was another excellent supper and good company with good friends. I'm sorry I missed it.
Bob has been noticing an unsavory sound coming from within the primary cover of the engine on his motorcycle. He had it evaluated at the local Harley-Davidson dealer in Savanna. The prognosis is a bad inner-primary bearing that needs to be replaced. Bob left his bike at the dealership. They can't get to it until sometime tomorrow afternoon. We are going to leave for Charleston, SC, in the morning and stay there until Bob can catch up with us and we can resume our travels together.
That's about all I have to report today my friends. Stay tuned, more adventures are coming.
